Jawi Temple is located in the Village Candiwates, Prigen district,Pasuruan regency. So for the location not too far away fromGrandpa Bodo Waterfall. This temple is from the Kingdompeninggalaan Singosari and created by King Kertanegara. A quiteunique, according to MPU Prapanca in his book that isNegarakertagama testified that Jawi Temple has two religiousproperties, namely the lower part are Hindu and uppers areBuddhist. Means that at that time a mixture of Hinduism andBuddhism is quite prominent in East Java.
According to info from the father who waited Candi Jawi, pristineparts of the temple was in the building beneath it, while in themiddle and the top is the building after the restoration (repair). As with most temples, in front of the main temple there are ancillary temples. But the chapel located at Candi Jawi has been almostrazed to the ground and not look like a chapel.
Behind the temple there is a building Jawi bebentuk such as gatesand made of red bricks that also has almost collapsed. It is said that this was once an entrance to the temple
Candi Jawi has a high and slender shape, much like Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta. This temple is a length of 14.24 meters,9.55 meters in width, and height of 24.50 meters. In the body of the temple there is an ornament of the recesses and the head stage.At the foot of the temple there is a relief depicting a story, butunfortunately until now the story has not been identified. While inthe building of the temple there are only Yoni only.
